Feedstock Handling:

Yeast is added to the mixture to convert the sugars into ethanol through the process of fermentation.
This stage typically takes a few days, during which ethanol and carbon dioxide are produced.
Distillation:
The fermented mixture undergoes distillation to separate ethanol from water and other byproducts.
The resulting liquid is a highproof ethanol.
Dehydration:
The highproof ethanol is then subjected to a dehydration process to remove any remaining water.
This step increases the ethanol concentration and makes it suitable for use as fuel.
Denaturing (optional):
For industrial purposes, ethanol may be denatured to make it unsuitable for human consumption. This involves adding a small amount of a denaturant, such as gasoline or other chemicals.
Storage and Distribution:
The final ethanol product is stored in tanks and then distributed for various applications, such as blending with gasoline, industrial use, or as a standalone fuel.
Waste Management:
